No Updates Needed

“Your word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.” Psalm 119:89

We live in a world of constant updates. Our apps get updated, our computers get updated, even our cars get software updates. Why? Primarily to fix bugs and to generally improve the software and performance. But the word of God never needs an update. There are no new revelations to add, no bugs to fix, no improvements to be made. The Bible, in its original language is perfect, complete, and eternal.

The Word of God is eternal. “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.” (Isaiah 40:8). And Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” (Matthew 24:35)

The Word of God is alive and always relevant. “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12).

The Word of God is always useful. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105)

God’s word needs no updates. It’s inerrant, it’s complete, it’s eternal, and it’s always applicable to our situation. Let it guide your life today. Make the Bible your go to app!
